Former President Donald Trump took the stage in Lorain County, Ohio, in front of thousands on Saturday night, blasting Ohio Rep. Anthony Gonzalez for voting to impeach him earlier this year, among other things.

During his rally, the same “Save America” slogan was on his podium; this was the title of the last rally he held on Jan. 6 that resulted in the U.S. Capitol riot.

Trump asked the crowd, “Do you miss me?” This was met with a big roar to which he responded, “They miss me.”

During the event, Trump looked to remind voters of Gonzalez’s impeachment vote and boost Max Miller, the former Trump aide running against Rep. Gonzalez in the district’s Republican primary next year. Trump even went as far as to say that when he would come to Ohio, Gonzalez would call the White House to fly on Air Force One.

"Max's opponent is a guy named Anthony Gonzalez, who's bad news. He's a grandstanding RINO, not respected in DC, who voted for the unhinged, unconstitutional, illegal impeachment witch hunt," Trump said. "He's a sellout, he's a fake Republican, and a disgrace to your state, I will tell you that."

Trump has claimed that his first campaign rally since the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was not about his impeachment, but he did spend much of his time critique Gonzalez for supporting the impeachment.

Miller spoke before the former president speaking fondly of him. “Love that guy,” he said as he argued that Gonzalez’s vote is a “betrayal.”

When he was called on stage, he said that he had “never had a greater role model” than the former president.

"Period," he said. "Bar none."

Throughout the rally, Mr. Trump continued his narrative on the stolen election and what he claims are fraudulent votes. The former president spoke for nearly 90 minutes and bounced from topic to topic, including immigration, Israel, and Speak Nancy Pelosi’s masks. Another speaker at the event was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia.

The New York Times reported that a Monmouth University Poll suggests that Republicans remain skeptical that President Biden’s election victory was straight and narrow. Thirty-six percent of Republicans think he won the election fairly, while 57% believe the president won his position fraudulently.

Mr. Trump is set to speak again on Saturday, July 3, the day before independence day in Sarasota, Florida, according to his website.
